The Croatian New Yorker Club's April 2011 food drive to support Resurrection Byzantine Catholic ( Slavic) Church's function in the Smithtown (Long Island, N.Y.) Emergency Food Bank was an enormous success.

Participating in a food drive was a new experience for the Croatian New Yorker Club Club. The idea was originated by CNYC Trustee Marijana Sarich, who felt that our Club should help people in need on these shores. In these difficult economic times the Food Bank typically provides groceries to 12-17 families per day, per month.

On Good Friday, Croatian New Yorker Club volunteers puchased and delivered over $1000.00 worth of much needed non-perishable groceries to the Food Bank. Food Bank Manager Alexis Cahill indicated that the CNYC's contribution was one of the largest they ever received. Bravo Marijana!
